A huge congratulations to Piston Cloud on raising $8 Million in Series B funding from Cisco, Data Collective, True Ventures and more to take its OpenStatck to the enterprise.

OpenStack Compute technology was first used at NASA to host applications for partnerships with the Whitehouse (USASpending.gov), Microsoft (World Wide Telescope), and Google (Google Mars). OpenStack Storage manages millions of files for tens of thousands of users in the Rackspace public cloud.

Pando Daily reports, “Piston Cloud, a platform as a service (PaaS) company, says its sweet spot is automating the controls of hardware like virtual machines and nodes, making them less man-powered and removing the administrator when it comes to tasks like scaling out VMs.” Source
